Well… If you’ve already snooped around my profile (and let’s be honest, you have do it!) — you’ve probably figured out I’m a Star Wars fan. Not just a “I like lightsabers” kind of fan: I’m talking full-on, quoting-Yoda-in-meetings, debating-the-Clone-Wars-at-dinner kind of fan and I collect the Lego figures. So yes, the Force is strong with this one. And no, I don’t own a robe. Not Yet.
This section? It’s the informal bit. The “here’s the human behind the professional HR” part. The rest of the website is where I pretend to be professional. This is where I admit I’m still caffeinated.
We spend most of our lives in meetings making decisions, pretending we understand Excel formulas, and replying to emails that make less sense than Alfredo' fettuccine but we’re more than that. Work doesn’t define us. Life needs space—away from buzzing phones, endless meetings and the relentless pursuit of profit. Even Darth Vader had a meditation pod. And he was a Top Manager!
Now let’s rewind to 1987. While most of my generation was dancing with Madonna and Duran Duran I was in Venice at Pink Floyd concert. That night rewired my brain. My ears were never the same. I’ve been collecting their vinyls ever since—because nothing beats the warm crackle of analog when escaping the digital chaos of the galaxy.
Sporty side? I’ve run marathons in Florence, Milan, and Venice. I spent a few years as a soccer referee in Italy’s “Lega Pro”—which, for those keeping score, is what our grandparents call “Serie C.” In 2006, I even received a national award for it. Not quite Jedi knighthood I mean but..not for all.
And then there’s Formula 1: I’ve collected autographs from legends like Senna, Prost, Mansell, Hill, Schumacher, Lauda, Regazzoni, Alboreto—basically, the Avengers of motorsport.
I play the bass with the same ease as a macaque (apologies uncle Roger Waters) and I also dabble in the Theremin…oh yeah!
I have only colorful socks and my shirts are custom-made (Milanese style, of course).
Later in life, I discovered swimming and diving, which taught me that beauty is all around us—especially underwater, where phones don’t ring and you become tutt’uno with the infinite blue. It’s like floating in space, but with better scenery and fewer asteroids.
Art is another passion. It kicks the dust off the soul. Whether it’s literature, photography, or painting, I see it as a window that never closes. I’ve even published some of my photographs, because storytelling isn’t just something I do at work—it’s how I live.
I’m an enthusiast. A passionate person. And I like to think that shows in how I approach everything—including work. Of course, Giuseppe Palermo is more than this—but I won’t bore you with more tales from the galaxy. If we ever get the chance to work together, you’ll see for yourself.
Oh, and I love writing. Maybe one day I’d love to publish a children’s storybook to help them fight the monsters hiding in the closet and under the bed when they turn off the lights before falling asleep.
Until then, may your vinyls stay scratch-free, your meetings short, and your Force strong, for ever and ever!
Oh, silly me I was just about to forget if you’re not Italian, a quick PSA: every time you order a cappuccino after lunch or dinner or break spaghetti before boiling it somewhere in Italy die of a broken heart..
